Another-Cares

We are working on becoming a more caring version of ourselves. We do not claim to be a sustainable brand, however we are committed to taking better choices and decreasing the environmental impact across our business. Whether this impacts our design process in which we aim to design each collection more sustainable than previous collections, or the smaller changes; each impact, small or big, is worth taking.

Here you can find more information about this process of change and also a way in how we want to commit you in this journey as well. Our love for the earth gives us three pillars on which we focus on; Community, Materials & Design

Which centers; people’s impact & transparency in the supply chain to empower working conditions, working with responsible materials to reduce the planet’s impact, working on circular models and durability & educating our supply chain.

Community

Empower working conditions

At Another-Label, our steadfast dedication lies in the empowerment and improvement of working conditions. Through our advocacy for fair labor practices, provision of education and resources, and cultivation of collaboration, we are resolute in enhancing the well-being of our workforce and nurturing a more equitable and supportive workplace.

Our strategic approach, characterized by the implementation of a loyalty program and a reliable data-driven business model, centers on several key pillars. These pillars encompass strict adherence to global standards, ensuring compliance with Corporate Social Responsibility and Development (CSRD) principles, conducting rigorous risk assessments, and fostering loyalty among both our suppliers and employees.

In the short term, our strategy entails aligning with OECD and UNGP purchasing guidelines, conducting social audits, establishing a designated supply chain, nurturing collaborative partnerships, and launching brand loyalty initiatives. These deliberate actions underscore our commitment to responsible sourcing and the pursuit of sustainable growth.

Our long-term strategy involves integrating worker education, equitable compensation, policy formulation (such as procurement, ethics, and labor), engaging stakeholders through materiality assessments, and conducting robust Corporate Social Responsibility and Development (CSRD) reporting to advance ethical and sustainable practices.

We take pride in being a company founded by women, and we have a deep commitment to promoting equality, empathy, and empowerment. Our goal is to cultivate a culture that embodies feminine strength for all the women we collaborate with and serve

Materials

Responsible materials

Another-Label is committed to responsible materials, prioritizing impactful sourcing and sustainable production methods to reduce our environmental footprint and push for ethical practices throughout our supply chain. Our commitment lies in choosing materials with reduced ecological impacts, furthering our goal of fostering a sustainable and responsible industry.

Our sustainability strategy centers on reducing environmental harm through impactful material sourcing. This includes eco-design principles, responsible material choices, and sustainable packaging to minimize waste and promote environmental responsibility in our operations. To achieve this strategy short term, it involves adopting sustainable and certified materials, exploring textile waste reduction options and reducing packaging materials in favor of sustainability.

Another-Label’s long-term strategy involves a focus on expanding the use of certified and sustainable materials, conducting product life cycle assessments (LCAs), establishing science-based targets, and implementing Digital Product Passports (DPP) to enhance product sustainability and environmental responsibility.

In the short term, Another-Label’s strategies aim to enhance sustainability, customer experience, and product longevity. Our long-term strategies include circular design and business model training, transitioning to a "produce on demand" approach, and promoting the use of renewable energy by our suppliers. These efforts are integral to our commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices.

Another Garment care

Another way to commit is to care about your garment. By taking care of your garment’s lifetime, we generate a longer period in which a garment is being worn. And therefore, we are reducing the environmental footprint.

Below our Another garment care tips:

1. Read our care labels: In our care labels we write the best way to wash your garment.

2. Be sweet to water: Use less water while washing and air dry your beautiful clothes. Avoid unnecessary water spill by doing this.

3. Another way of washing: Qualities like wool, linen or satin need hugs from you and not your washing machine. Handwash and airdry them.

4. Protect your❤: Always put delicate pieces in laundry bags. That way they will have a longer life span.

5. Repair for new memories: Do you have an item that needs repairing? Bring it to your closest tailor and give your item a chance of creating new memories.

Reduce the travel of orders:
Another way to reduce the environmental footprint is to reduce unnecessary transport of orders. Are you in love with an item and ready to order, but you struggle to decide which size to get? Please do not order 2 or more sizes. Take a look at our size guide, which you can see under the sizes. Next to this, in the product information you can read what kind of fit the product has. Are you looking for a something oversized, but is has a regular fit? The best way is to size up.

Another Material
Our ambition is to increase the percentage of conscious materials in every new collection we develop. Below you can find all materials we use that are tagged as our conscious- choice products.

Lenzing viscose - Lenzing viscose is a certified material as it’s made from pulp from responsible managed forests (FSC or PEFC)  and comes from sustainable sources. It’s certified with the international recognized EU Ecolabel.

Lyocell - Lyocell is a natural, man-made fiber, made from wood pulp. For the production of lyocell there are no toxic chemicals used. Because of the closed loop system, all chemicals are recycled and reused. The water used in the process is around 20% less in comparison to other productions, like cotton. Lyocell is bio-degradable and compostable which means that all items made of lyocell can revert back into nature.

Recycled polyester - Recycled polyester is made from recycled materials, like PET bottles and polyester fabrics. The energy needed in the production process of recycled polyester is around 30-50% less than virgin polyester and for this no new petroleum is needed. Therefore reducing the overall carbon foot- print. Recycled PET prevents that PET bottles are ending up in landfill. Recycled polyester is certified with the GRS (Global Recycled Standard) or RCS (Recycled Content Standard).

Organic Cotton - Organic cotton is grown using methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment. Organic production systems replenish and maintain soil fertility, reduce the use of toxic and persistent pesticides and fertilizers, and build biologically diverse agriculture. Organic cotton is grown without the use of toxic and persistent pesticides and synthetic fertilizers.

Recycled Cotton -Recycled cotton is converting cotton fabric into cotton fiber that can be reused in textile products. Recycled content includes recycled raw material, as well as used, reconditioned, and re-manufactured components.

Post consumer recycled cotton – Post-consumer recycled cotton is the type of cotton that comes from recycled garments and textile products which have been previously sold to and used by people.

Pre-consumer recycled cotton - Pre-consumer recycled cotton this is the type of cotton that comes from the waste that is produced in the manufacturing process.
